Mindful Movement, in whatever form it takes, is my passion. I firmly believe in the power of movement to help people feel at home in their own bodies and more connected to their lives. I work to keep my classes and private instruction accessible, creative and full of detail. In each session expect to work, rest and have space to explore the shapes and movements in equal measure.
I’ve been teaching Yoga since 2005 and Pilates since 2017, but was a student of both methods for years before venturing down the path of teaching. I am still ever curious about movement modalities and feed my teaching by being a perpetual student. There is always something to learn, and everyone is a teacher.
I would describe what I teach as mindful movement. I blend Pilates, Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, basic calisthenics, functional barre method, light strength training, aerobic work, somatic movement, simple stretching and Yoga Nidra into something aimed at creating more ease in your daily life.
I got my first Yoga certification at The Yoga Tree in San Francisco in 2005 with teachers Stephanie Snyder, Jamie Lindsay, Darrin Main and Jai Kumar. I studied Pre Natal Yoga with Jane Austin and Marisa Toriggino, and I continue to learn from many teachers. I study Pilates on-going with Ruthie Wahlborg, Chris Black, Nancy Myers, Everlea Bryant and Ellie Herman blending classical Pilates with a more contemporary and approach. I hold a license from Incorporating Fitness, LLC allowing me to teach the Buff Bones ® Method – an osteoporosis safe workout method designed to enhance agility, fitness and bone strength. I am a Yoga Alliance registered E-RYT® 200 teacher of teachers. I am a Balanced Body Certified Movement Specialist with The Pilates Chair and Arc. I have completed a Yoga Nidra Training Program with Scott More - Waking up With Yogic Sleep. I am continuously learning a wonderful functional movement barre method from Ellie Herman.
I am the mom of a kind spirited red haired son, who amazes me everyday. I love talking to my plants, heavy metal and bad jokes. Outside the studio you might find me curled up with my cat, sipping a steaming cuppa strong black tea with a little cream and touch of sugar and a book. I love books! Or I might be out riding or hiking on mountain trails with my partner (who is an wonderful tattoo artist and artist in general Dannyboy Smith). and, then one day I may finally publish a book...
In case you want to know a little more...

Mindful movement comes in many forms, Yoga, Pilates, dance, hiking, walking, running, swimming, martial arts, and bike riding to name a few. I view mindful movement of whatever form as a way into a deeper more comfortable connection to life. My hope is that through my classes you are able to feel more connected to your body by creating better body mechanics, building strength, flexibility, endurance and agility. And, that you take that ease and confidence out into all that you do.
When we connect to our breath and focus on the present through learning and executing movements and shapes we not only improve our physical condition, but also calm our minds and center ourselves as active participants in our lives. When we are available to ourselves we are truly available to others. And, the world needs us to be present and available these days!
Even though we are living in virtual times, taking classes on small screens, we are joining like others searching for a calming, energizing break in their day. Apart we are still together.
